‘LOCALIZED’ (10.25.24) Back

‘LOCALIZED’ was a collaborative art installation that brought together over 30 students of Syracuse University to share, exchange, and collaborate on a giant canvas covering the wall of a student apartment. An opportunity to slow down and experience great ideas in a physical context. The installation was inspired by a question from the book CURATING AFTER THE GLOBAL: Roadmaps for the Present, which asks “but what exactly does it mean to be global, or to be local in the context of artistic, curatorial and rheoretical knowledge and practice?”

Participants were incouraged to self promote, share perspectives, projects, and advice with peers, as well as on the walls of the gallery. Not only words, students were encouraged to draw pictures as well.
