タクさん、ありがとう!

Hi, I’m Taku Yamaguchi a university student in Kyoto Japan. I met Tobias at a flea market in Kyoto. There was a foreigner sketching a temple, and when I talked to him, he turned out to be a student  from New York. I love America so I was really excited.

I like second-hand clothes and often go to second-hand clothing stores in Osaka and Kobe. The clothes, the atmosphere, the staff, and the way the clothes are appealing are all cool at the second-hand clothing stores there. There is also a space where you can talk to the staff and relax. But I don't think there are any second-hand clothing stores like that in Kyoto. That's why I decided to open a shop because I love used clothes and second-hand clothing stores. It's difficult to open a store all of a sudden, so I'm selling online now. Someday, I would like to open a vintage clothing store in Kyoto with a relaxing space. We purchase our products from warehouses in Japan, and occasionally go to Thailand. I would like to buy some when I go to Canada. I mainly buy used clothing from the 80s and 90s, and I'm looking for used clothing that has both vintage value and fashion value. Therefore, when selling items, I am conscious of both the coolness of the item itself and the coolness of incorporating it into an outfit.

This time, at the request of my friend Tobias, I would like to introduce my room.

A balance is maintained between plants and inorganic showcases. As for the plants, I have collected strong plants that don't need to be watered too much, as sensitive ones will wither. However, I still get tired of it sometimes. The showcase contains dirty knits from the 60s and deadstock T-shirts.

Next, I will  introduce the clothes that take up most of the room. I love to collect old clothes because of my father and sister. Of course I like wearing them aswell.

The first vintage item I bought was a Carhartt jacket when I was 14 years old. My father took me to a thrift store, and I wandered around the store while my father looked at the clothes. Then I was drawn to the Carhartt that the mannequin was wearing, and my father bought it for me. From there, I fell in love with vintage clothing. I would like to introduce all of my clothes, but there are too many, so I will introduce a selection of them.

Next is this 1940s U.S. Navy jacket. I haven't met anyone wearing this yet, and I've never seen it at a thrift store lol.

Next up is 30s-40s French work pants. I thought it was really cool and paid a lot of money to get it, but my mom told me they were dirty.

and lately I’ve been collecting the NY series.

Next is 90s reverse weave. I love being dirty, and the next 80s-90s dickies pants are also dirty.

Last, I will introduce the artwork. I like drawing pictures with my friends, and I display the pictures I draw. I like that everything is a little lame and weird. I'm currently painting on a small canvas, but I'd like to try painting on a larger canvas as well.

Thank you Taku for the first contribution to MikeBrain!!!!
